The eligibility for membership shall be in accordance with the regulations set by the founding sisters of Kappa Alpha Iota Sorority Incorporated. Members must be lesbian females of age 25 and older, status of Femm, a registered voter, working and or goal oriented. All ladies seeking membership of Kappa Alpha Iota Sorority Incorporated must complete the Butterfly Intake Process and complete a minimum of 50 hours of community service per year. The Ladies of Kappa Alpha Iota Sorority Incorporated will not discriminate based on race, religion, national origin, disability, or political status.

Potential members must be willing to travel to the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area at least twice a year for national sisterhood events.
